Hello All: When I hold the left button on my mouse and drag it across the monitor it creates a blue box on the screen which goes away when I let go. It doesn't seem to do anything and I've never come across an explanation for it. Is it useful for anything?
    Thanks, Duke Masters

It's a "highlight" box - so to speak.... If you drag the box across many icons - they'll be highlighted so you can right click and copy or delete.

Yep, as what EzyStvy had mentioned, it's just a highlight box visual effect. If you wish to turn that off, you can do so by going to:
Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Performance Settings -> Visual Effects ... Untick the "Show translucent selection rectangle" box.

    Hope that helps :)
