    Hey folks,

So I am trying to safe a friend from complete frustration. They are on dial up and refuse to take a Win7 laptop. So with that I need to figure out how to get WinXP installed with all the correct drivers. I have managed to get as far as all but 1 driver. WINXP is up and running and good except 1 driver.

    1. Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus

    Hardware ID's
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8086&DEV_2804&SUBSYS_17AA21B5&REV_1000
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8086&DEV_2804&SUBSYS_17AA21B5

    Please help!

That driver did not work as it kept saying that it cannot install this hardware.

And again your suggestion did not work. Man this is becoming frustrating. In fact, the sound does work on this laptop. I just don't know what this driver actually is. I'm tempted just to hide it and call it a day but I don't think it will let me.

I was at that page but it never gave me an option to download. It just had me running in circles.

It looks like the Conexant codecs are installed, but maybe installing the driver I linked would take care of it. If you can't download it, here it is on my Google Drive:

    6na128ww.exe

Now - I *think* all this does is give you sound through the DisplayPort - which works like HDMI. If the sound works, I wouldn't worry about it.

You can try uninstalling it and rebooting. If that doesn't work, right click on it, go to properties, and try to do a driver update, searching Windows Update.
