    I personally love the new LIKE feature!!!

    Clicking on... LIKE allows me to conveniently & efficiently;
    * Say.. THANK YOU to someone for their post.
    * Say.. I AGREE WITH YOUR comment or post.
    * Approve of someone's opinion.
    * Let the person know I LIKE his post!

    All without cluttering the thread with a bunch of short quoted messages.

    Who else LOVES the new LIKE feature?
    Click LIKE if you do!

    Oh no.... The thread has had 19 views and only two "likes." Guess the feature should be turned off:devil

    I could live without the notification that someone likes somethng I typed:p

    I'm neutral on it. Don't see many advantages nor disadvantages.

    I like it. It is a good way to let someone know you appreciate their comments.

    I think I might have been the first person to use it. I had not seen it used by anyone else. After I did, I noticed others doing it. I could be wrong, but I didn't even know if only the poster would know or what, and then saw it was on the post. I would have noticed that, but I don't read every post here I am sure.

    As far as the feature, I like it. I comment quite a bit, but there are times I like or agree with a post, but may not have anything to add and may not always want to quote it or say, "amen", "you are right" etc. This is an efficient way to do that and probably keeps the threads more manageable. It also helps in those situations where someone might like what I post, but doesn't comment. It lets me know they read and agree even if they don't comment.

    The notifications are nice to know someone did, but I wish maybe that there were a way to separate those in the notifications from PMs (on the main page), but that is a small quibble. I would rather know that someone did than not know.

    Not for me, but I know that I am in the minority. I have yet to set up a Facebook page. :eek: Just can't get into it...

    (Perhaps I am secretly afraid that no one would friend me! :D)

    How can it help advertising, it being an internal feature?

    Well, I was just thinking, spread the PC Mech word...

    I don't have a page, but when you 'like' something, doesn't it show up on your wall/news feed? And then your friends see that you 'liked' something?

    Anyway, I saw the Facebook like at the top of the thread and thought the like was 'like' related to the Facebook like...like ya know what I mean?

    Oh well, I'm going back to my rotary phone and make a call. :)

    Oh, I see. Well, in that case it might work. I wouldn't be able to tell, since I don't use social networking or news feeds.

    Yea, I guess I see now that the Like on the thread is an internal feature. I guess I don't 'like' it now since it confused me :eek:

    The Facebook "like" and the "like" feature here are similar, but unrelated. As Nuke said, the one here is an internal feature. They do seem to have some Facebook promo features too, but not the like feature here.

    One think I'd like is to not get notifications about what I've said having been liked. I care about the PMs, but not about the likes.

    Had to edit that post, I sounded a little cranky and didn't intend to. :eek:

    I don't know how to turn off the "like" notifications. That's part of vBSEO and I don't have access.

    I am SO fighting the temptation to like this if for no other reason than to pick on Nuke. :D
