If you are going to use 1600 speed ram, use Corsair Vengeance - it's 1.5 volts.

The only SATA III SSD's I really trust are the Intel 510 drives.

Instead of a separate SSD and hard drive, I'd consider using SSD caching with a WD Black drive instead of a Green.

Try it without a video card and sound card first. You can always add them.

Stay away from the ballistics and go with glc's recommendation. The 2500K is more than capable for an HTPC, I have built a few of them and the graphics are stunning for T.V. and HD.

I am going to make a change on the ram. I like the idea of waiting on a video and sound cards. If I were to need them what would I want to purchase that would provide 3d video and great sound?

    Thanks

I would say lets wait if you can be patient. The hardware is more than capable for your posted needs. If you require a solution to your unanticipated needs, it is better to be more specific towards your "new" requirements as needed.
