Missing files in my HiJackThis Log!

Ok, so previously I posted several hijackthis logs for my computer that was infected with viruses. Well since my computer was old and was running Windows XP I decided to get a new computer. Now my system is running Windows 7 64 bit. The problem is when I ran my HJT the log shows that there are some files missing, such as lsass.exe, spoolsv.exe etc.

I googled the issues and some people have stated that HJT has not been updated yet to be compatible with Windows 7 64 bit so some files might not be able to be detected by HJT. Also my computer is running fine and i don't think my computer will function normally if those important exe files are missing.

This is a brand new computer, only two days old and I have scanned it with Avast, SUperantisyware and Malwarebytes. I also use Spyware Blaster. So I just want to know if this is a problem with HJT not compatible with Windows 7 or if there is something I should really be worried about.

Hi all!

I just wanted to reply that I tried to locate all the files that were reported missing in the log and I have found all of them in the windows system 32 folder so perhaps it does seem like it is an incompatibility of HJT and Windows 7.

Also the unknown BHO on the log has been fied with HJT and is actually related to Windows Live Messenger.

Should I still be suspicious that some malware or trojan is lurking in my system?

Your log is clean, my only advice would be to clean up the 04's. You have some programs running on startup that you don't need, all they do is use system resources. Some examples are: QuickTime, Java, Dell apps, Cyberlink, ect.

HJT has not yet been updated to include Windows 7 compatibility. Use very carefully.
