USB and ethernet are completely separate, so the USB working proves nothing about your ethernet. What exactly happens when your ethernet on the computer is hooked up? Try this for me. Make sure you have the modem connected to the WAN port of the router with ethernet, and nothing else besides the power and coax/phone line (depending on if it's cable or DSL) connected to the modem. Connect your computer to the router with ethernet, and nothing else, no USB. Then, unplug the modem, wait about 30 seconds, and plug it back in again. Wait a few minutes for all the lights to get to their normal state. Then, unplug your router, wait about 30 seconds, and plug it back in again. Wait a few minutes for it to complete it's startup. Then, reboot your computer. Check and see if the internet works on it. If you're still having problems, open a command prompt (Start, run... type in cmd and click ok) and type in ipconfig /all. Paste the results of that command here so we can get a better idea of what's going on.
