LG drive won't read disc

My LG GSA-H22N (according to DISC Info) won't load the first of two discs for Modern Warfare 2.

I've searched and mostly found answers saying to close other processes (rebooted with no startup/non-microsoft services), and to update the firmware. I tried this one and it didn't work.

Specifically what happens is I put the disc in, can hear it spinning 'weakly', and eventually my windows explorer crashes until I eject the drive again. Other dvds/cds will load fine - even disc 2 of MW2.

Any ideas?

Return the game for replacement disks.
Press errors on disks happen, I had to have Amazon replace the full Dreamfall set a few years back when the third disk proved defective, if you're past the return period for the store you bought it from the publisher will replace it.

I even tried opti drive control and the program just crashes. Again, it works fine with other disks, as does the disk work fine on my other pc.

Well, you need to either replace the disk or the drive..........

Just because the disk works in another computer or other disks work in the drive doesn't necessarily mean the drive and the disk are both good.

glc is right.
It won't cost you anything but time, and some postage, to get new disks.
If that doesn't work then you have to wonder about the drive.

Cool. I'll exchange the disk today and if that doesn't work I'll get a new optical drive.

Thanks guys.
