IOGEAR USB 4 Port KVM

IOGEAR (GCS634U) USB 4 Port KVM $46...

Connected to one 20' LCD @ 1600x1200 resolution, Logitech 530S USB wireless keyboard and mouse for mac, 1 WinXP, 3 Slackware 12.1 -.2 all workng flawlessly with this IOGEAR 4 Port USB KVM.

Mind you i don't play computer games on any these boxes, usage is run of the mil computer tasks, mostly graphics and website oriented tasks.

VGA video quality is stable and impressive. No sound issues although other than utube and tutorials i don't play music or movies on my boxes at this time.

The KVM came with all the cables, small foot print, runs really cool with decent key setup instruction booklet.
CTRL, CTRL + 1 -4 on top row numbers to switch between PCs.

* While computers are actually booting you have to wait till PC is about mid way thru boot up to be able to switch.

Cables are only about 6 feet just perfect for my use.

I called tech support once because XP box wanted me to plug the wireless desktop into the mouse port and it should be in the keyboard port. I had to reset the XP connection to kvm for automatic scan - an option i was not clear about key combinations to initiate. Tech support was great, took me all of 10 minutes including the survey i filled out for the agent.

$45 or $46 dollars no tax, free shipping from amazon.com it was the best price. This is my second IOGEAR KVM switch... i have a two computer one i bought years ago; So thanks to PCmech's member suggestions.... I am a happy tinker.
