Getting ready to fire up for the first time!

Hey guys,

Getting ready to fire up a new system for the first time. Here is what I'm using.

MB-ASUS P6T DELUXE V2 1366 X58
Processor- CPU INTEL|CORE I7 920 2.66G 45N
Power Supply- PCPWR&COOLING|PPCS910 910W
Tower- CASE CoolerMaster|RC-932-KKN1-GP BK
Ram- Corsair Dominator MEM 2Gx3|CORS TR3X6G1600C8D
PCU Cooler/Heatsink - CPU COOL|CM RR-920-N520-GP
HD- OCZ 60GB SSD (Planing on adding a WD Black soon)
DVD- HP cheapo, need to upgrade
Video- EVGA Geforce GTX 275

I've read all the manuals, tons of stuff here on the forums and watched numerous videos on youtube. I feel confident everything was installed properly. Is there anything that maybe I missed, like jump twice....snap your fingers three times......then whistle for good luck. I know my puppy loves a good belly rub, think it'll help with a PC?

You should be okay, just watch when the computer is POSTing to see that the CPU fan is running....and then check the other fans while you are at it.

Sounds like a real nice rig!

I recommend you do a quick out of case POST before putting the motherboard in the case to make sure the core components are good:

Everything went smooth, the one problem that I seem to have is the sound. I hear the mobo beep on start up but I can't hear anything thru the monitor speakers. I've connected the monitor to the PC with a HDMI cable, should I hear sound thru the monitor? Other than that I feel I need to get some new speakers for the system, something that'll work. There aren't any RCA cables on the back of the mobo.

Any thoughs?

I believe there is a separate driver package you have to install to get the audio to go over HDMI.

Generally, you use a patch cable with 1/8" stereo phone plugs on each end to run audio from a PC to a monitor that has builtin speakers.

I fired it up this morning and everything seemed to be going just as smoothly as last night. What a relief!
