Funny thing about automating everything. If the power goes out, nothng get accomplished. Ever been in a store during a power failure? The whole place shuts down.

I have seen computerized shifters for boats and computerized wheels. What happens if your DC goes down?...no steerage, no throttles. At least diesels can run without DC...some of them. Even diesels are computer dependent now. Lose the power and the engine goes down..not good.

Seems in many respects we have traded independence for dependence on power to do our daily tasks.
