How can I do this most effectively and efficiently?
Should I remove the partition that the bundled software is in?
Can anyone that is familiar with Levono laptops suggest which bundle software is worth keeping and/or trying.

Sorry for what might seem like dumb questions, but my tech level is some what low (I'm still a noob) and would rather try to get my PC running smooth rather than run it with all that bundled crap that I don't need.
Thanks

Hi Gang

Well here I am again, with another problem.

I have this Asus P4P800-VM MOBO, and I lost me connection to the Internet, so I did all the normal things, when none of those worked, I tried to install the Ethernet drivers from the Asus disk. It would start installing the Ethernet drivers and all of a sudden go to a LAN connection, and to my understanding this is dial up connection. So I went into add and remove and deleted the Pro LAN, and went back and tried again, and it did the same thing. So I thought why not go into the Bios, and disable the LAN connection, so I did and now I am stuck with no Internet connection, no matter what I try it will not connect.

I am finding it needs this for the modem connection HSP56, but when I try to install this it goes to a blue screen of death.

Thanx....Gunny

I just recently bought a new Notebook that came with Vista, but through the promotion, I have a Windows 7 upgrade coming in the mail. The hard drive came partitioned into 2 drives, a 149 GB and a 137 GB partition. My issue is that I'm concerned that some of my software won't work with 7 as it would with Vista, so my plan is to copy over my C drive in place of my D drive, keep Vista on that one, and upgrade my C drive with the Windows 7. Space isn't an issue since the drives internally are bare, I work out of a 500 GB external hard drive, makes gaming easier between my Notebook and my Desktop back home.

I'm not sure how or if I can copy over drives like that. My goal is to be able to boot out of either drive, so my question is is there to accomplish this easily and without having to spend a bunch on a partition copier?

Then did a full back up to an external drive, then restored it to a new 500 gig HDD. As the only drive it boots into Windows, but calls it Drive I. Programs will not work... says they are on a different drive.
I tried to rename Drive I to Drive C hoping that would work. Can not do it.
How can I get it to act like the C drive ? Thanks. (First time I used Acronis. Have tried using Ghost to copy " C: partition only " to a new drive, but can not do it.)

Hello,

I bought a new power supply, is a 700W Coolmax CL-700B, the readings for speedfan were innacurate, so I used a multimeter with the PC turned on. I will post the readings with the multimeter, which also found very weird: One reading was between 18-19V, another was between 6-7V and the last one was between 2.0-2.4V. Acording to the box, this PSW has 4 12V rails, I don't know if the unusual readings has anything to do with it. You can view the power supply link page here http://www.amamax.com/coc7012blled.html

Since what says in the page and what says in the box is different, I will post the specs from it here:

+5V 30A
+3.3V 24A

for a total of 180W

+12V1 16A
+12V2 16A
+12V3 16A
+12V4 12A

for a total of 570W

-12V 0.5A (6W)
+5VSB 3A (15W)

This is the first time I have this type of power supply with more than one 12V rail and I want to know if the multimeter readings are normal and if this power supply can support a higher end video card than the one is in my signature.

Any help appreciated.

Installed a Sapphire Radeon HD4350 PCI-e vid card in a Dell Vostro 200 Slim case. Used both 1/2 height brackets to locate the vga connector alongside the dvi connector. Connected both montiors and during boot up both monitors display the Windows loading progress bar (XP Pro). Before the ATI drivers were installed, both monitors displayed the same image. I didn't bother to check any settings until I had installed the drivers. I downloaded the latest ATI driver for this card from the web site. Now when the boot loading completes, only one monitor shows a display. Device Manager only shows one display and Display Properties only shows one Desktop. I've checked the bios for any settings and changed the video priority from pci to pci-ex - that made no difference. Anyone have an idea what is preventing the second display connection from being recognized by Windows XP?

Well, I was let go last February from a job that I held for 19 years and decided to get my degree in Computer Graphics. This fall I took a flash class that is part of my requirement and for my final project I decided to do a little game to show that I know Flash. I've been posting my game on my own website http://www.pepster.com to show the progress to people on Facebook and then it dawn on me why not post it on pcmech.com. I'm not trying to toot my own horn just want to show how far I have come along and if anyone can make a suggest to make the game better feel free to reply to this thread. I know this is a computer hardware forum, but I still enjoy the computer hardware aspect although it isn't something that I want to get into unless it's my last recourse. I think everyone should know how a computer is put together that way they can concentrate using that computer as a tool and not have to worry about it breaking down. An if it should break down you know how to fix it and that it will be no problem get back it up and running for you have made backups.....right? ;)

Heya guys, I've been looking to upgrade/rebuild my computer that I built back in late spring 2007. This first build was a gaming PC, but now I'm not looking to make it into a dedicated gamer like my first build. It will essentially be a brand new computer that I'm looking to build with as some of the parts are starting to show some age.

I currently run an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ @ 2.6 Ghz
Have to recheck exact Mobo but it is MSI built.
SATA 250GB WD Caviar HD @ 7200rpm
XFX nVIDIA 8800GT 512MB
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
2GB OCZ DDR2 1066 RAM(1x2GB, other 2GB stick just died on me like 2-3 weeks ago havent bothered to replace yet. And this is actually what got me thinking into replacing whole system basically)
OCZ PSU 600W
Antec 900 Case

Have monitor/keyboard/mouse/headphones as well.

Essentially, I want to upgrade processor/mobo/maybe GFX and be able to run Win7 64bit

As far as brand goes, I'm in college so $$$ is a bit of an issue, but I kinda prefer AMD over Intel. However I'm open to just about anything.
